You and I, friend, are already far advanced in our plans for our success in eSports, but as they say – “the devil is in the details.”
We’ve come a long way, but now we need to look back. The fact is that Dota 2 is not just a game, it is primarily a strategic plane in which you and I have to move by touch. Today we will talk about such an important event as calibration. If you have already heard this term and understand what it is about – congratulations, but did you go through it correctly? You will find out the answer to this question in today’s article and, of course, in your statistics.
So what is this very calibration? Account calibration is a process in which the formulas of the game determine your level of heroism and, in general, your level of playing Dota 2. Calibration in Dota 2 proceeds according to the means of the first 10 matches played by you. It is the win rate in these ten games that will be the key to your rise in the subsequent tournament tables.
But why is it so important? The fact is that the world of Dota is full of different algorithms, each of which has its own effect on one or another aspect of the game. Calibration is like a first date, the better impression you leave about yourself, the more chances you will be called for coffee. With Dota about the same, the first ten games of the account predetermine your level of play and your ability to conduct difficult matches, after the completion of these ten games, the algorithm will calculate your approximate level of skill and will send you to players with similar parameters.

You probably ask, “why do I need opponents of my level, with opponents of a lower level, it would be easier for me to get a rating” but no matter how it is. It’s worth starting with the fact that the game will not let you just increase the rating, if you fail the calibration – a centrifuge with the levels of opponents is waiting for you, since both players with a low level of skill and guys with high indicators can get to you. Considering that DotA is a game in which everything depends not only on you – you don’t have a lot of chances to ruin high-level guys in combination with a random team.
“But what if I failed the calibration, lost a lot, what will happen to my account?” There is a chance to get him off the bottom with a good subsequent win rate, but it will take longer than if you just played well initially. As a rule, players who direct their gaze to e-sports and drain calibration at the same time simply create a new account and go through these 10 circles of hell again. There is also an alternative account calibration option, but we will talk about it tomorrow.
