On Sunday, a Muslim march took place in New York, which this time was combined with a protest against the oppression of the population of Kashmir.
The Muslim march of solidarity with Kashmiris was attended by about 3,000 people who walked along Madison Avenue with posters and banners in their hands, IslamNews reports citing Al Jazeera .
“This year we are focusing on Kashmir, as this is a cause for great concern,” said the march coordinator Farris Fayaz. “Unfortunately, the international community for the most part is silent and only makes life easier for the Indian government.”
On the posters of the march participants there were inscriptions calling for respect for human rights in Kashmir and condemning the actions of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had just arrived on a visit to the United States.
