Saudi authorities have decided to close about 20 different positions in the tourism sector for foreigners as part of the course on “Saudization” of labor in the kingdom, reports Saudi Gazette.
The ban applies to tourist apartments and all hotels above two stars.
Among other things, foreigners will not be able to work as reservations and marketing specialists, deputy directors of the hotel, heads of sales, supervisors of sports clubs, etc.
Labor migrants, in particular, are invited to work as drivers, porters, gatekeepers.
Innovations will partially come into force before the end of this year and in full – at the end of 2020.
Previously, similar changes affected 12 sectors in the field of trade. The purpose of such measures is to reduce the level of unemployment in KSA.
