An Ethiopian military helicopter crashed in the Abyei area, on the border of Sudan and South Sudan. It is reported by ABC News, with reference to the UN statement.
According to him, on board the helicopter were 23 people. As a result of the incident, three people died. Another ten received various injuries, three of them are in critical condition.
The cause of the crash is not reported. The channel notes that Ethiopia is the only country in Africa that cooperates with the United States in the military sphere.
The oil-rich region of Abyei is a disputed territory of Sudan and South Sudan. In 2004, this district was granted special administrative status. The territory is disputed by South Sudan, but controlled by the Government of Sudan.
