In India, the cyclone “Gadzha” claimed the lives of 20 people

In the six districts of the state of Tamil Nadu more than 470 centers of assistance to local residents have been opened, and fishermen have been urged not to go to sea.

It is reported that the cyclone hit the state on November 15 and caused significant damage, damaging homes, power grids and communications networks.

The most affected cities were Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur and Tanjore. In several areas, strong wind uprooted trees. For security reasons, the Nagapattinam and several other neighborhoods have cut off electricity.

The Disaster Management Authority released a video instruction for residents and launched help hotlines.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on his Twitter account that he spoke with the chief minister of the state and expressed the hope that everything would be alright with the residents.

“I pray for the safety and well-being of the people of Tamil Nadu,” he wrote.
