The Granada police station received a call complaining of animal abuse. A local resident said that an unknown man was beating a dog.

Arriving at the address indicated, the police found the owner and the shepherd puppy badly affected by the beatings.

The dog was taken away, taken to the veterinarian and they want to accept as a new member of the team in the near future, reports the BBC.

On their Twitter page, the police launched a vote to select a name for the new pet.

To date, four possible nicknames have been identified, among them Lucky (“lucky”), Rocky and Stan Lee. It is noted that the last option so far gained the largest percentage of votes.
