According to Marochko, the Ukrainian side makes such statements in order to intimidate its personnel and local residents. “They accuse the people’s republics of using laser weapons, which even developed countries of the world do not have in service,” he said. Marochko stressed that the People’s Militia “does not have any laser weapons at its disposal.”
On the eve of the Ukrainian border guards reported that recorded the use of “Russian mercenaries” of laser weapons in the area of the control point Stanitsa Luganskaya. According to the State Border Service, on the territory not controlled by Kiev, “rays of a light purple color” were visible. The border guards indicated that the militia, according to the Ukrainian side, had already used laser weapons.
