A piece of ice came off when the locals went fishing. They were able to transfer their coordinates.
In Yakutia, 8 reindeer herders carried the Laptevs into the sea on an ice floe, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for Yakutia informs.

It happened near the Bolshoy Lyakhovsky Island of the Bulunsky District. All eight people work in the agricultural cooperative “Multuk” and are engaged in breeding deer.

On the ice they were fishing. The reindeer breeders contacted by the satellite phone the head of the Multuk community and reported their coordinates. MOE is searching.
