Save up for a record. Russians can spend 52 billion rubles in “Black Friday”

Such a sum may arise from sales online and offline, but analysts warn that expectations may be too high.
This year, retailers expect record-spending from Russians at the traditional Black Friday sale – about 52 billion rubles, or 57% higher than last year. It is reported by Kommersant with reference to the forecast of the Association of Online Trading Companies (ACIT), the Russian Association of Electronic Communications (RAEC) and the VimpelCom Business Division.

Last year, on the traditional day of sales, more than 20 million Russians made purchases, spending more than 30 billion rubles, of which 24 billion rubles offline and 6 billion rubles online. At the same time, experts note that every year more and more residents of the regions take part in “Black Friday”.

“If three or five years ago, mostly residents of large cities knew about the action, now we see that almost 70% of online sales visitors are residents of the regions,” said AKIT President Artem Sokolov.

Last year, 3.5 thousand stores joined the action. According to ACIT, this time there will be at least one and a half times more – that is, more than 5 thousand.
