Female special forces may appear in the Belgian Ministry of Defense

Currently, the share of women in the Belgian army is more than seven percent.
At the end of 2019 – the beginning of 2020, female special forces will appear in the Armed Forces of Belgium. According to the RTBF TV and Radio Company, in the country’s army, whose personnel numbers 27,000 people, 7.8% are women, while the share of women in the top officer’s rank is 13.9%.

In Belgium, women were first recruited in 1975. Until then, they could only be called upon during the mobilization period. It is worth noting that in 1992, the country refused to universal military service. In 2010, military service in the professional army was restored on a voluntary basis.
