Poroshenko signed a decree on the introduction of martial law in Ukraine

The document will take effect immediately after it is approved by the Verkhovna Rada. Martial law is introduced up to January 25, 2019.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree on the introduction of martial law on the territory of the Square. The text of the document is published on the official website of the politician. Martial law will be valid from November 26, 2018 until January 25, 2019.

Thus, Poroshenko put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of the country. The document itself consists of 12 points, one of which is classified.

  • To enact the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine dated November 26, 2018 “On emergency measures to ensure the state sovereignty and independence of Ukraine and the introduction of martial law in Ukraine,” the document says.

The decree will come into force immediately after it is approved by the Verkhovna Rada, which is exactly the procedure provided for by Ukrainian legislation. Voting will take place today at 17:00 Moscow time.

Recall that the martial law in Kiev started talking after the incident near the Kerch Strait. On the morning of November 25, three vessels of the Ukrainian Navy crossed the Russian border. After the invasion, Russian Su-25 attack aircraft were raised and a fleet was engaged. The actions of Kiev were regarded as a provocation.
