On Elbrus found the body of a Muscovite

A Moscow skier died under an avalanche on the slope of Elbrus, which is prohibited for skiing, Interfax reports, citing a source.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, January 9th. The body of a man with no signs of life was found under the Mir station at an altitude of 3.5 thousand meters. Earlier, the spouse reported about the disappearance of a skier from Moscow. According to the agency interlocutor, a man born in 1981, who lives in Moscow, rode a prohibited part of the slope below the Mir station on Elbrus. It is assumed that he himself caused the avalanche, in which he died.

Rescuers began transporting the body of the deceased for further transmission to the interdepartmental investigative and operational group.

In August 2017, a tourist from Moscow died while climbing Mount Elbrus. Mountaineer born in 1962 felt unwell and contacted the Emergency Situations Ministry . After about three hours, EMERCOM officers found a man at an altitude of 4.1 thousand meters, but he was already dead.
