At the 67th year of his life died Formula 1 racing director Charlie Whiting. This was reported by the press service of the International Automobile Federation (FIA).

It is noted that the cause of death was a pulmonary embolus.

Words of condolence have already expressed the Russian racer Daniil Kvyat.

– Dear Charlie, you left us. We will miss you very much. Thank you for your hard work and talent. Condolences to your family and friends, – wrote Kvyat in Instagram.

Whiting began his career in Formula 1 in 1977, in addition to the position of race director Charlie, was the FIA ​​safety delegate and head of the technical department of Royal racing.
