Russians spent almost 700 million in November sales

During “Black Friday”, the demand for equipment in money terms was 4 times higher than the average daily figures for November.
The Russians spent more than 299 million rubles during the Black Friday sales and about 383 million rubles on the bachelor’s day. Smartphones turned out to be the most popular product category, Russian manufacturer and supplier of online cash registers Atol reported to Life.

As it turned out, the Russians spent more on “bachelor’s day” than on “black friday”. During sales, the volume of sales of equipment in money terms was 4 times higher than the daily average. The average check rose by 31% compared with the average check in November and by 65% ​​compared to last year’s Black Friday. Smartphones have become the most popular category of goods – most often on the Web they purchased Xiaomi Redmi 6A, Huawei Nova 3i and Apple iPhone X devices. In the second and third places were the categories “Games and software” and “Accessories for phones”, respectively.

On the eve of Black Friday, sales on the Web declined greatly (for example, by 84% for electronics and computer equipment), but with its onset, sales in the “Technology” category grew by 322%, “Household appliances” – by 153%, “Computer equipment “- 99%.

At the end of the “bachelor’s day,” electronics sales grew six-fold compared with last year, 53% of sales in this segment accounted for smartphones. The average bill for smartphones grew by 106% compared with the data of 2017 – up to 8676 rubles. The average check for computers in 2018 fell by 75% compared with last year and reached 19,096 rubles. As it turned out, beauty equipment and built-in equipment used the least demand among buyers.

According to experts, after the stage of sales in the field of online sales in Russia the most likely decline. However, it may not happen unless extreme fluctuations in the exchange rate occur. In this case, sales at the end of the year can reach the level of sales during the “Black Friday”.

The study analyzed data from more than 13 thousand cash registers connected to online stores in Russia. In total, experts selected 23,067,943 checks for a total of 43,920,904,013 rubles.
