The main buyers of Eurobonds were large Western investment banks and funds: BNP Paribas, JPMorgan, HSBC, Citi and NCB Capital.

Investors were offered bonds of two issues – maturing in 2029 and 2050. The yield on the first will be 4.48 percent, on the second – 5.328 percent. This is almost equal to the level of return on previous placements, which were carried out before the assassination of Hashkudji. This means that the national debt of the kingdom remains in demand among investors, even despite the tarnished reputation of the country.

In particular, the publication cites the position of the British bank HSBC: the killing of a journalist there is considered unacceptable, which was reported privately to the Saudi authorities, but at the same time they recognize that such cases, like the violation of human rights in general, occur in other countries.

Jamal Hashkoudzhi, the last years of his life living in the United States, was killed in the consulate of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul on October 2. The authorities of the country at first denied the fact of the murder, then recognized it, but still insist on non-participation of the state and officials. In early January , the first court session on this case was held in Riyadh . For five of the 11 accused prosecutors demanded the death penalty.
