Russian Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova, in an interview with Channel One, said that the Ministry of Health forecasts that the flu epidemic will end in mid-April.
“It remains to suffer for two weeks, and the flu will hit the plateau and begin to decline. Somewhere until mid-April, he will leave completely, ” TASS quoted Skvortsova . According to her, the duration of the epidemic itself is normal, 12-14 weeks.
The minister added that since 2006, the incidence of influenza in Russia has declined more than 13 times, and the number of deaths from influenza has more than 20 times. According to her, this is due to an increase in vaccination coverage of more than 2.5 times.
Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor reported that the epidemic threshold for the incidence of influenza and ARVI was exceeded in 43 Russian regions. According to the ministry, children from schools and kindergartens between the ages of three to six and from seven to 14 years old are most actively involved in this process. The maximum excess of the incidence threshold – almost twice – was recorded in the Altai Territory, Yakutia, Khakassia, Buryatia and the Sverdlovsk region.
