Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on subsidizing the creation, production and maintenance of MS-21 aircraft. This is reported on the website of the Cabinet.
It is noted that the budget in 2019 provided for this purpose 1.58 billion rubles, in 2020 and 2021 – 4.11 and 4.81 billion rubles. respectively. 90% of the manufacturer’s costs associated with the sale and maintenance of MS-21 aircraft are subject to subsidization, and 90% of the manufacturer’s costs of paying interest on loans are also subsidized.
The state support of the manufacturer is provided for by the state program “Development of the aviation industry for 2023-2025” (subprogram “Aircraft”).
At a meeting with Medvedev, Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov said that the localization of the MS-21 production in Russia should be 97% by 2022, reports TASS . “The Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with the United Aircraft Corporation, has developed a plan of concrete measures to replace foreign components used in this aircraft with Russian ones,” he said.
According to Borisov, the business plan provides for the creation of a peak of up to 70 aircraft per year, but in the future the possibility of reaching about 100 aircraft per year is being considered. He also said that to date there are 175 “solid orders” that have already been paid. The starting customer is Aeroflot, he specified. According to the vice-premier, the need for MS-21 aircraft in the world is about 850 aircraft.
In September, Borisov said that already in 2020 it is planned to begin deliveries of MS-21. According to him, until 2025, the development of the liner will be spent 465 billion rubles. In June 2017 it became known that they spent about 245 billion rubles on the development of the aircraft .
The MS-21-300 is a new-generation mid-range passenger aircraft capable of carrying 211 passengers.
